the entrance to the exhibition space
"I'm experiencing "crisis" of sensory equilibrium! Congratulations!" -- Hendrawan Riyanto
"I'm very impressed with the use of darkness in your work, that darkness has became something significant in this work I found really amazing. In the matter of form and space to represent what you want to express I think it's been achieved.
One thing that I'd like to suggest is please try to introduce this work to wider audience so this kind of works will not just passed by. (so it's not artists and art critics only who see works like this)."
"Very unique and intriguing and provoking my curiosity."
"As a place for self reflection and to find the core of ourselves.
It would be better with appropriate music."
"Gripping the senses."
"It's like being trapped in a huge macrocosm. Walking between thousands of natural wonders. Also appeared a certain kind of fear to cannot get out from this very fantastic and yet frighteningly mesmerizing 'world'. Fumbling and searching for the way out to the other 'world'." -- Yenti
"A fear in which there's an extraordinary beauty." -- Kundi, Tutur Teater
"Vertigo, doubts, fumbling for something to hold on to appeared so strongly when I walk into your work. These are important things in life and work processes. Congratulations, till your next work/exhibition." -- Yaya
"I'm reminded of the time before electricity, in the thick darkness... but there was light, and the face of humankind have yet to appear. When I entered the room, I experienced a total disorientation... How was the space? I couldn't tell whether it was big or small, whether there might be mirrors and whether all the light were real. Because I don't have 3-D vision, it's really difficult for me to 'understand the space' when it's dark and only few things visible. Have to be brave to walk in to the darkness: yeah, that's our condition as humankind. A very interesting experience, very good work. Thank you!" -- Sarah Murray
"Ach! Effektiv! Have never experienced anything like this before!"
-- Dr. Roger Wisemann
"More beautiful than dream... It's the dream of every artist!" -- F. Rajasa
"Creative, the magical atmosphere with ceramics is captivating."
"What is art? I cannot answer it because it's such a huge question for me -- although I'm in the process to learn about it all. What I can say here is how do I respond to the blessed existence of 'Art'. For me, art is a blessing in the form of creative-aesthetic interpretation from individuals of their lives. We're reminded of some sensations we experienced in the past, be it a direct empirical ones or through others,
or perhaps willl experience in the future.
Just like Li Fhung's installation work this time -- Krisis. Through this work I'm reminded of my life crisis in the past. This work has at least helped me to analyze the crisis intellectually. In this matter, Li Fhung is very helpful with her use of darkness, the wobbling sponge, sands, light and the ceramics (both hung and on the illuminated pedestals) to 'smoothening' my mental recollection of some sensations that I've been through. For this help, I am grateful...." -- Fugan Tarban, Filmologi IKJ
"I find it's difficult to understand it, but there's beauty." -- Tara, IKJ
"Silent communication... and certainly it took my stress away."
"First it felt scary, somebody teased me. And then when I got inside uh... very beautiful. But I don't know exactly what makes it beautiful. It's just beautiful."
-- Rani, IKJ
"Still too difficult to be understood by common people."
"It's mesmerizing like under the sea. The ceramics are like the floating shells. Upon closer look they appear so beautiful... and no longer frightening. They're so unique.
-- Vanny
"It leaves a magical impression, planetary orbit, tickling the imagination!"
"It really felt as if I was in a dark and quiet cave/temple. My heart seemed to waver (in the beginning). But then I felt this calming and tranquil atmosphere, and it felt as though in a long solitary. Inside, I've really got to realize my existence. And so I have to be careful." -- Fahrudin, IKJ
"Comment: Whatever that is, I'd call it 'Astonishing'. Too bad it's too crowded inside, a quiet surrounding is necessary." -- Amir Famzi
"Amazing! Medititative."
"I went in there several times. Stayed there for hours and come out with a short story in my head. Thank you!" -- Bimo
"Feels like finding back my lost cocoon..."
"Lie Fhung presents a work of creativity that challenges our imagination. Very good!"
"Tremendous fear within the essence of beauty." -- Kundi
"The first time I went in, it was so dark, so dark I couldn't see my own hands. The further I went, there were some light, still light and flickering light. It felt like entering some place very foreign. I was clueless as how the place would be. After a while when my sight adjusted to the darkness, I saw 9 flickering light formed half a circle like mysterious throne, because in the middle of this half circle was really dark. And the light around it was like a lower rank soldiers while the ceramic pieces hung above were their commanders. Slowly, things seemed to reveal their shapes. I felt as though I'd discover the mysteries behind all these. Everything begun to look familiar and feel close, like I'd like to just stay there. It's like a mystery of the after-life." -- Herman
"Feels like going into the center of the earth...
Evoking my memories of digging Cirata dam."
"Awesome! Spectacular!"
"A wound -- Empty Space -- Emptiness -- Purifying..."
-- Alit Ambara, written on a pen sketch.
"It's like being reborn!!!"
"I was scared when I first walked in, and once inside I felt like being alone in a quiet place and I could feel what has passed. There's no regret." -- Ricky S.K.
"It reminds us of death... scary." -- Dony
